JUNE 2, 2012 - This past weekend, about 1,000 game developers, students, and hobbyists from all over the world participated in the first ever “What Would Molydeux?” game jam. Together, they produced over 250 games in under 48 hours based on the works of Peter Molydeux, a doppleganger Twitter account with parody game designs in the style of British game designer Peter Molyneux.

Magic Pixel Games’ Holden Link organized the Los Angeles “Molyjam” – one of the 32 locations worldwide – and Magic Pixel provided drinks, snacks, t-shirts, and more for the 60 participants. The designers, engineers, artists, and musicians who attended represented over 25 game companies and universities stretching from Los Angeles to San Diego. The entire 48 hour event was streamed live and watched by thousands of viewers over the internet. G4 and NowLoading were present to cover the final presentations where each team showed off the games they produced, which included PC games, mobile games, card games, and even hardware-based games.

The Molyjam was an inspiring display of passion for games by everyone involved. Magic Pixel Games would like to thank everyone who attended the jam or watched online for making it an awesome experience. We had a lot of fun getting to know our LA development community and we hope to continue being involved in events like this in the future.
