Concept Artist
Our team is now looking for a Concept Artist to guide development of individual items in our world, small and large. This person will work closely with the Art Director to create items to populate our varied worlds. We move fast, and you’ll be a lynchpin player on a very agile (and sometimes chaotic!) team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Generate creative, amazing and cohesive designs, and communicate them via concept art.
- Visually guide the creation of creatures and items necessary to populate our game environments: (characters, world geometry, props) as directed by Art Director and project requirements
- Work closely with Art Director to adhere to required style, and implement changes as required by feedback and technical requirements
Requirements:
- Concept art production experience on current-generation AAA titles (PS3, X360 or PC) with at least one credited, shipped current generation game title
- Experienced in imagining and communicating characters and objects, featuring both hard surface and character design experience, taking designs from quick thumbnails to fully developed concepts
- Able to interpret art direction into imaginative designs, which can then be communicated clearly as concept artwork
- Experience with creating designs that work within the constraints of console games
- Accurately schedule and estimate tasks, completing tasks in a timely fashion with high degree of quality
- Enjoys working on small, agile teams
- A mention of a possum in cover letter or accompanying e-mail
- Motivated, and can work independently
- Passionate for (and interested in) games – both playing and building!
- Wide-ranging knowledge of art in games
Preferences:
- Multiple credited, shipped, current generation game titles
- Flexibility in at least one other facet of art production such as texture painting
